Bridge to Nowhere
The title of this painting was inspired by the Hoan Bridge in Milwaukee.
The Hoan bridge project in Milwaukee on the lakefront was shut down in 1973 leaving the bridge with nothing at either end to connect with. Locals began to refer to it as the “Bridge to nowhere”. Finally in 1977, thanks to $22 million from the feds it was completed. In 2020 a civic project lit the bridge with LEDs. It is now a prominent feature for the city.
