Artist's Description
A recent trip to Scotland and the Isle of Skye provided the inspiration for this painting. The sun breaking through the shifting clouds added dramatic lighting to the rugged landscape of the Scottish Highlands. Rather than a specific location, this piece is composed of my visual impressions of the region where there are more castles than Starbucks. I felt a strong emotional pull to this land and a feeling of returning home even though this was my very first trip.
