Fountain Square
A foggy night in downtown Cincinnati is the backdrop for this painting of the famous fountain glowing in the damp and hazy atmosphere. Fountain Square has been the symbolic center of Cincinnati since 1871. The Fountain Square District has become a restaurant and entertainment hub. It contains many offices, hotels, specialty shops and restaurants. I lived in Cincinnati from 1984 to 1988 and would often take out-of-town visitors down to see the fountain and take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the district. I wonder if they still have the carriage rides?
