The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Perhaps I've been reading too much Science Fiction lately, but I was feeling a swirling combination of flesh and metal in this painting as it progressed. The fleshy pinkish tone contrasted with the dark passages that made me think of some sort of futuristic metal alloy fused with organic tissue ...bio-synthetic skin and bones.
